A Shower of Blessings

First things first, I know I have not blogged in forever.  That's simply because nothing much has happened lately.

This person approved this piece of paper.

Weeks of waiting.

Now the piece if paper is being sent on to another person for approval.

See?  Nothing blogworthy to really write about.

BUT, this past weekend, we had a fun adoption shower at my childhood church with our families. It was a beautiful day, yummy snacks were eaten, I got to see some sweet folks I haven't seen in a while, and we received an awesome variety of items that Ivelina will need when she comes home!

Here are some photos from the day:

Having the shower made us really feel like expectant parents. All the paperwork and waiting is not so much fun, but really preparing for the arrival of our daughter is most definitely fun! We came home and put the new sheets on her bed and set up the cute Hello Kitty pillow on her bed and filled some drawers of her chest and hung the beautiful dresses in her closet. It was a very sweet day! Our family and friends really showered us with blessings!

Then TODAY came another BIG blessing! After 5.5 weeks of waiting for the Minister of Justice in Bulgaria to approve our case, we got a call today that the MOJ approved us AND we were assigned a court date for later this month!  Court is the last stage of this process before travel, so we were relieved and excited to get this good news. Our second trip to Bulgaria to pick up our daughter will likely be in the month of May if everything continues to go well.    =)  =)

We are continuing to raise support for this final stage of the adoption. Our second trip will be a bit more expensive than our first trip because we will have an extra one-way ticket to purchase for Ivelina, and we will be in-country for ten days this time instead of seven.  If you feel led to give to our adoption, please use the PaylPal button on the side of our blog!

Thanks for reading,
Shelly
