We completed our final big thing to do before our trip, which was to visit an infectious disease specialist and get some extra immunizations. Not too much fun, but we got that coveted little yellow fever card that will get us over the border!
We also got malaria prevention meds and some good tips for staying healthy overall while out of the country. It would be such a shame to go to all the trouble preparing, saving money, praying, and training only to get to Sudan and be sick the whole time. So, please begin to PRAY PRAY PRAY for the health of our team to be strong so that we can minster without that distraction.
Me, my yellow card, and my sore arm. |
We also got some exciting news today about our ministry assignments in Sudan. Jeremy and I have been assigned to help encourage and strengthen a small church that was planted years ago by another church. The mother church has not effectively taken this new church under its wings, and the believers are struggling. I am SO excited to know a little more about my specific mission now. We also still have plans to visit an orphanage on the very first day we arrive and love on the children. I am working on a program to do with the orphans there! Can't wait!
YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE COVERED BY OUR PRAYERS AND ESPECIALLY FOR AND DURING YOUR MISSION TRIP AND PRAY THAT YOU WILL HAVE POSITIVELY IMPACTED THE LIVES YOU ARE ABOUT TO BECOME INVOLVED WITH IN A GODLY MANNER. WE LOVE YOU AND KNOW YOU WILL BE RICHLY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED.
